We stayed at Ndutu lodge at the end of August this year, unfortunately only for one night.
We had a good time with the whole family!
It was nice and quiet at the lodge, so we were able to explore the bush on our own!
That was great!
Now we have started to save some money again, so we hopefully can come back one day.
Thanks!

Thanks so much for your latest newsletter, the pictures and stories always leave us yearning to visit Ndutu again. [This years visit was our third]. Ndutu is my favourite place in Tanzania but I never seem to be able organize my visit to stay longer.
I have sent some pics we took at Ndutu in June this year. The Hyena cub and the juvenile were at their den and not far from the lodge in the woodland area and were with three adults. The group of lioness were at the end of the lake and were resting in the shade as usual. The Zebra carcass was also near the lake and I thought it looked rather abstract.

Passing the Crater ridge and come to overlook the Serengeti Plain makes my heart beat faster. It is such an overwhelming feeling to visit this area and especially Ndutu Safari Lodge. The lodge is perfectly situated and offers so many biotopes with new experiences in all directions.
Each season has something to give. If the rain has not reached the area yet, we can enjoy the appearance of several cat species before the grass gets high and check water holes that attract everything flying, walking and crawling.

Like each year we liked our holiday very much. It is still unbelievable that you always can see things you did not see before. This year there were the highlights of seeing the striped hyenas looking for there food in the woodland, and laying in front of their holes. We saw the births of Wildebeest and Tommy and the hunting of the lionesses and cheetah. In Selei we were very well cared by the crew and Thomas, who told us a lot about the Masai and their cattle. And, of course, we saw the vultures and swallows at their breeding place in the Olkarien Gorge. At the return from Selei we found in the almost dried up Lake Masek a just born Hippo that could hardly be seen because of the mud that was as black as the baby. I can tell you a lot more about the migration, but the best thing is to see it yourself.

News from France. We often look at your web site. For us, it's a pleasure to read news of Ndutu Safari lodge. It was a great honnour for you and the team to have the visit of your Président at Christmas ! Congratulations for you. We send you two photos of our firstsafari (february 2008). The two "grues couronnées" with their child were "shoot"in Ngorogoro crater; very rare photo, and please, look at the eyes of the "singe de Sykes". Kind regards for you and the team;with pleasure to read you again. Jean-Claude et Véronique Poillong.

I was at Ndutu for four nights in January 2008 and six nights in March 2008. It was incredible! In January, I saw hundreds of wildebeests and zebras and in March, had the good fortune to see 19 cheetahs.

We have been in Ndutu in February since 3 years. Each year was different: Dry, so that the Wildebeest went away; very wet, so that a lot of cars got stucked, or this year after the burning. But we always saw a lot of Cheetah's.
This year was special because you could spot animals far away. There were running Honeybadgers, an Aardvark out of his hole during the day, more than one Serval Cat and Wild Cats. There were less Steinbucks, Butterflys, Elephants and Lions, but lots and lots of Wildebeest with calves. And, of course, we visited the mother with six and the mother with four, and the mother with three cubs. Because you could see so far away we saw a lot of hunting without disturbing it. We like very much looking at the interaction between the different animals. When you are three weeks in Ndutu you have all the time to wait and look. And going with Hamisi you always see something special: at the moment you think you have seen everything, something new comes crossing you path

We were with the Cheeseman's Ecology Tour this Feb. in Ndutu. Wildersun Safaris provided the drivers. Being able to go off road provided us with many close encounters and better photo opportunities. We are coming back in 2010.

Todd has been back at Ndutu this February (2008) and has shown us some photos from his stay. He was here before in 2005, when he took the wildebeest photo on our front page.

Caroline and myself really look forward to returning each year to Ndutu. We have visited now for 5 years consecutively and are always captivated by the area. Self driving in Ndutu provides a feeling of freedom as we go out looking for our favourite animals, especially the cheetahs.
